ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The city of Elmira is kicking off the holiday season with the return of a popular tradition. Families will be downtown this morning to enjoy the annual Holiday Parade.
This is the 56th year for the parade, which features all sorts of floats, costumed characters and bands. It's sponsored by Community Bank NA.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Water Street.
Clemens Center Parkway:
All lanes from Church Street to Water Street from 7:00 am until approximately 1:00 pm and northbound from Pennsylvania Avenue to Church Street from 9:00 am until approximately 1:00 pm.
The following will be closed from 9:00 am to approximately 12:00 pm:
Water Street from Lake Street to Columbia Street College Avenue from Water Street to Fourth Street Gray Street from Baldwin Street to Columbia Street Church Street from Clemens Center Parkway to Columbia Street First Street from Railroad Avenue to Columbia Street Second Street from Clemens Center Parkway to Columbia Street Third Street from Main Street to Columbia Street Clinton Street from Main Street to Columbia Street Park Place from Fourth Street south Main Street from Chemung Place to Third St
