OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Oswego woman was arrested after police say she attacked her sister, who was holding her one-year-old son at the time. Brandi Thorpe, 23, is charged with third degree assault.

Troopers say her sister, Kathy Whalen, was picking up her children from a Hannibal home last Tuesday when Thorpe began spitting on her. The incident escalated when they say Thorpe punched her sister in the face, hit her in the head with a phone and chased her outside, all while Whalen was holding her infant son.

Thorpe was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Oswego County Social Services have also joined the investigation.
