Grieg Town Clerk charged with official misconduct
LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Lewis County employee has been charged with official misconduct. Investigators say the Grieg Town Clerk misapplied state funds last year.
According to State Police, Karin Fayle, 65, used a check for more than $17,000 from the Black River Watershed Project to cover a known shortage in the Town Property Tax account.
Fayle was issued an appearance ticket for Grieg Town Court.
The New York State Comptroller's office helped with the investigation.
