SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two years after the shooting death of a Syracuse toddler, family and friends continue to remember his life that was cut so short.

A vigil Wednesday on the city's Southside honored Rashaad Walker, 20.

In November 2010, baby Rashaad was the victim of a gang related shooting in the city. Back in March of this year, Saquan Evans was convicted of the shooting death.

The baby boy's family and friends say that the vigil is not only a time to remember Rashaad, but to recognize the need to end violence.

"Taking innocent people's lives, or whoever's lives. Stop the violence all together, because both people suffer," said Renee Beswick, Rashaad’s grandmother.

Evans is currently serving his sentence of a minimum of 40 years in prison.
