SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One of the most familiar voices in local sports talk radio is leaving his gig. Brent Axe, the host of ‘On the Block’ says he has accepted another job locally in the media, but it is not with another TV or radio station. He has not yet revealed what the job is.

Axe has been on the air in Syracuse since 2002. His current show plays on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel. The TV station has not yet announced what programming will take his place. The Score 1260 also says it is looking at internal and external candidates to fill their 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. time slot.
