Plane forced to make emergency landing after landing gear problem

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Everyone is okay after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Hancock Airport. Airport officials say it happened around 4 p.m. Sunday.

It was shortly after takeoff for an Air Wisconsin plane operating a U.S. Airways flight from Syracuse to Philadelphia that the pilot noticed an issue with the landing gear and turned around, landing safely.

Fifty-two people were on board.
