LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Carthage man involved in an Amish buggy hit and run accident has turned himself in. Lewis County deputies say Steven Waite, 50, came forward Tuesday night as the driver of a truck that hit an Amish buggy in Lowville last Thursday.

No one was hurt in that incident, but the carriage was badly damaged.

Waite was issued a number of tickets for driving too fast, following too closely, and leaving the scene of an accident.
