SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Some local soldiers have returned home.

More than 200 members of the Army National Guard's 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are back in the U.S. after being deployed to Kuwait in April.

The soldiers, based out of armories in Syracuse, Buffalo and Geneseo, are the first of 1,300 men and women returning throughout the month of December. They're in Camp Shelby for processing, but should start arriving home by late next week.

The soldiers performed logistics, administrative and security missions while deployed.
