Cornell Univ. Police: Reported attempted rape did not occur
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell University Police have determined that an attempted rape reported near campus this past fall did not actually happen.
The investigation began back in September after a woman claimed she was attacked on the Trolley Bridge over Cascadilla Creek.
Police say they exhausted many resources in the investigation and ultimately determined that the woman's story didn't line up.
They have closed the case but say they will continue to focus on other reported sexual assaults which were reported over the past few months.
