Court upholds Corr killers' convictions

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The court of appeals has upheld the convictions of three men for the murder of New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr. Corr was shot and killed in 2006 during a pursuit after a jewelry store robbery.

Robert Ward, Marion Pegese, and Toussaint Davis were all convicted of murder, among other charges. A fourth man, suspected trigger man, Walter Richardson, was later shot and killed in a shootout with US Marshalls in Philadelphia.

Attorneys for Ward, Pegese, and Davis appealed their convictions, claiming numerous errors. They questioned the sufficiency of evidence, the testimony of government witnesses and the constitutional validity of their life sentences.

The court of appeals, Tuesday, denied their appeals and affirmed their convictions.
