CALIFORNIA -- California police have reopened the case of a woman killed in a fire 21 years ago after her husband was recently charged with murdering his son in Seneca County. Police have reopened the investigation into the 1991 death of Karl Karlsen's wife, Christena Karlsen, 30.

The mother of three was killed in a northern California fire that Karlsen told investigators started from a kerosene spill. The Calaveras County Sheriff's office says they have begun interviewing people in the case.

53-year old Karlsen pleaded not-guilty to second degree murder and insurance fraud Monday in Seneca County. That was in connection with the death of his son, Levi.

Karl is being accused of intentionally dropping a car on his son four years ago, as Levi worked underneath. Karlsen collected a large payout from a life insurance policy that was set up two weeks prior to Levi's death.
