OSWEGO, N.Y. -- SUNY Oswego has received the largest donation in school history.

A gift of $5 million was donated by Dr. Barbara Palmer Shineman, a former alum and professor emeriti of education. Four million dollars came from her husband's foundation.

Dr. Richard Shineman was the founding chair of the chemistry department. His name will be on the Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation, which is currently under construction and set to open next fall.
