SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- If you've been at Destiny USA over the last week specifically, you've probably noticed that most of the time, the parking lots here are full. Obviously with just a few days until Christmas, there's a lot of people who have been taking advantage of many of the new stores here at Destiny.
Compared to last year, there are about 50 new venues here at the former Carousel Mall, while three new restaurants have opened in the past two weeks. PF Changs, TGI Fridays, and Gordon and Biersh have all opened their doors. While some shoppers are familiar with the layout here, Destiny officials have some tips to make your experience a little easier if you're coming here in the next few days.
First, you can try parking in one of the pink lots near the Pedestrian Bridge on Solar Street if you're looking to shop or park near the new area. If you haven't been here before, you should try using the interactive kiosks or guest services to help you find what stores and venues you're looking for. Be sure to stop, relax and try something new like one of the restaurants or Wonderworks.
Destiny USA General Manager Rob Schoeneck said, "Now with all the outlet opportunities that we've added on, the entertainment, the great new restaurant venues, it's really growing into a much busier place. But, a lot of excitement, a lot of bags. It's been a great holiday season here for us so far."
In addition, Destiny has extended its hours this week and will be open from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. while some stores will be open longer. The mall will also be open until 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Remember to use patience when you're shopping. There's not only a large ground to cover here, but there are a lot of shoppers looking to get those last-minute gifts.
