Two sentenced for elaborate fraud scheme

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A mother and son from Pennsylvania have been sentenced for a $14 million fraud in Broome County.

Laura Conarton, 47, and Scott Lonzinski, 32, will spend the next five years in prison for committing an elaborate fraud scheme. They admitted to getting ten loans from the Broome County Teacher's Federal Credit Union, totaling more than $14 million.

As part of the scheme, they created multiple phony documents, made false statements and created a fake name.

Conarton and Lonzinski were also sentenced to five years supervised release, and they'll have to pay back the $14 million.
