NEW YORK -- A powerful storm is gaining strength as it makes its up the east coast, and it's going to be at our doorsteps later today.

Little Rock Arkansas already got hit with this heavy snowfall Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our area this evening. A wintry mix of heavy snow and sleet is expected.

The storm also devastated parts of the Midwest and southern states, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands and claiming three lives. The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down near downtown Mobile, Alabama.

The exact amount of snowfall for us will depend on location, but some areas could see more than a foot.
