SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A nice afternoon for some leisurely ice skating in downtown Syracuse.

Some people decided to avoid the shopping malls and head to the rink. Skaters we spoke with said they wanted to take advantage of the calm weather.

"I’m not really afraid of the snow, but I think we're just going to enjoy the day and hopefully cozy up with some movies and hot chocolate later," said Pompey resident Sarah Gastin.

Weather depending, Clinton Square is offering free ice skating Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
