NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Snow is a pretty common sight around Syracuse in winter, but it's not nearly as common in New York City.

Players and fans at the Pinstripe Bowl are seeing some scattered snow showers. Crews worked all Saturday morning and afternoon to keep the field as clear as possible.

We caught up with some fans from both sides before the game and they told us the snow could actually be a good thing.

"I think it makes it more exciting. I think it’s going to make for a really exciting game. Both Syracuse and West Virginia have real high scoring teams. It’s going to impact the throwing game a lot, but the ground game’s on point, so I think we should have a pretty exciting game," West Virginia fan J.T. Pittman said.

"I think it’s fun for Syracuse fans because we don't get to see them play in snow much because of the Dome, so yeah, I think it's going to make for a very exciting game," Syracuse fan Sheila Fountain said.
