SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Disney on Ice performers have arrived in Syracuse to bring Disney classics alive. One skater made a stop at the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Miranda Popen, who plays Jessie from "Toy Story," read Pinocchio to children in the hospital Wednesday. She says that performing on the ice is great, but getting up close and personal with this group of kids warms her heart.

"Just any way that I can help the kids. It's already a treat that I get to help put a smile on kid's faces every time I have the show, but now I can personally do it on my own. And it feels really good,” Popen said.

Mickey Mouse himself made a special appearance after the story telling.

The whole Disney on Ice crew will be performing at the Oncenter starting Wednesday evening. Other show dates are:

7 p.m. - Jan. 2
7 p.m. - Jan. 3
7 p.m. - Jan. 4
11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. - Jan. 5
1 and 4:30 p.m. - Jan. 6
