SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, Penn. -- A Dimock Township man is facing animal cruelty charges after troopers say he shot his neighbor’s dog.

Pennsylvania State Police say Matthew Debonis, 32, allegedly shot the dog in the chest after it crossed onto his property. They say Debonis used a .22 caliber rifle.

The dog, “Bear”, a black lab mix, was taken to an Emergency Veterinary Clinic where he is expected to make a full recovery.
