UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man who admitted to his role in the shooting death of Anthony Garner in 2011 has been sentenced.
Octavius Garrett, 31, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter back in November. He was sentenced Friday to 15 years in prison with five years of post release supervision.
Another man, Dominic Cook, also pleaded guilty in November and will be sentenced later this month.
A third defendant, Marshall Jackson, was already sentenced to 25 years to life in prison last year for shooting Garner in the head.
