JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Kids in the North Country got a taste of what goes on when being interviewed for a job.

The annual Workforce 2020 Career Fair brought many high school students to Jefferson Community College to learn the importance of a college education and to get interview experience.

More than 16 school districts and 100 businesses attended the fair so students could learn about all the career opportunities that are available to them in the North Country. Organizers say it's important that children know they can make a good living in their community

"This is our future workforce here today that will come and start to take the place of our retiring baby boomers in the area and so we will always need a pipeline of good talent," said Cheryl Mayforth, Executive Director of Jefferson-Lewis Investment Board.

Students had the opportunity to present themselves in interview settings and receive feedback from the businesses they met with.
