CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- A former New York State Police Trooper has died after a three year battle with cancer.

Tim Tyler of Canastota was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma back in January 2010. He spent years receiving treatment in Rochester and New York City.

Tyler and his family have gotten an outpour of support from the community over the years from benefits to other fundraisers.
