ITHACA, N.Y. -- The first week of testimony wraps up in the Corbin Whyte murder trial. The Ithaca man is accused in the shooting death of Paul Garcia in 2010.
Over the last five days, witnesses for the prosecution have included people who were with Garcia and Whyte on the evening of the shooting, as well as state police investigators and cell phone experts.
On Friday, jurors heard from a woman who testified she helped Whyte discard of his clothing after the shooting. The defense pointed out that the witness changed her story several times since the crime.
Prosecutors say Whyte was involved in shooting Garcia and robbing him, then tried to hide the evidence. The defense maintains there is no evidence linking Whyte to the shooting.
The prosecution will continue to call witnesses next week.
