Brooklyn man sentenced for credit card fraud

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Brooklyn man who assisted in a major credit card fraud operation in Onondaga County has been sentenced.

Paul Hill, 24, will spend the next five years in prison and will have to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution.

Investigators say between June of 2010 and April of 2011, Hill helped Andre Greaves of Syracuse obtain counterfeit credit cards which were linked to accounts of other people. Greaves then used the cards to buy gift cards, which he would use a portion of and send the rest to Brooklyn.

Back in August, Greaves was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay the same restitution as Hill.
