Fundraising underway for Oz-Stravaganza

We may be right in the middle of winter, but the people of Chittenango are focusing on getting ready for this year's Oz-Stravaganza in May. In order to pull off the event, there's a lot of fundraising that has to happen. Candace Hopkins has more from the newsroom.

CHITTENANGO, N.Y. -- It may seem as if winter will never end, but Chittenango's Oz-Stravaganza is only 134 days away. The festival will be held from May 31st to June 2nd, and if you need your Oz fix before then, you can visit the "All Things Oz" Museum any time of year.

Right now, they are open three days a week, but they are looking to expand their hours. They are currently holding a greeting card sale to help support the museum. The cards were donated by Kinney Drugs, and each one is only ten cents. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the museum.

"These cards range in price from 99 cents to $9.99, so that's a big savings, we encourage people to make a list, what cards will you need for 2013, cause we've got them for aunt, uncle and granddaughter, you name it,” said Colleen Zimmer, Oz-Stravaganza and All Things Oz Co-Director.

The sale runs today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
