SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police are investigating a robbery and assault along Hall Avenue, just after midnight on Sunday.

Officers say a woman left a house party with a man. According to investigators, while they were walking down the street, the man started beating the woman and took some of her belongings.

Charles Campbell, 24, of Syracuse is charged with assault and robbery.

The woman was taken to Upstate University Hospital. Her injuries were not life threatening.
