ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man convicted of hitting a police detective with a car has been sentenced. Gavin Ballog will spend the next four years in prison.

Ballog was arrested in July of last year during an investigation into larcenies at Drivers Village in Cicero. Police said he tried to run down a detective who was approaching his car.
