SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man is recovering after being stabbed in the heart early Tuesday morning.

Police say Gregory Moore, 52, was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend Crystal Ash, 39. It happened just after 6 a.m. on the 100 block of South Avenue.

Moore had a laceration on his heart and was taken to Upstate University Hospital for emergency surgery.

Police say Ash also violated an order of protection. She's charged with assault, criminal contempt, and criminal possession of a weapon.
