ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Onondaga County Sheriff's detective was hit by a police car during a pursuit Tuesday, but still managed to make the arrest.

Around 1 p.m., Detective Terrence Fisher got out his car to chase a burglary suspect on Beattie Street in Syracuse. Fisher was hit by a police car at the scene, but continued to chase the man and eventually tracked him down.

Rotimi Nibbs, 22, was taken into custody and charged with second degree burglary, fourth degree grand larceny and criminal mischief for a burglary at a Town of Onondaga home. He also faces several charges for fleeing from police.

Detective Fisher was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was treated and released.
