SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Winter is still in the air, but baseball season is coming up fast. To help build excitement, while also helping the community, the Syracuse Chiefs are busy preparing for a longtime tradition.

The 53rd annual Hot Stove event will be held this Friday at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Liverpool. The fundraiser will feature a silent auction, games, autographed memorabilia and dinner to raise money for the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation.

The charity helps improve the health and educational opportunities for Central New York families and children.

Friday, Chiefs fans will get the chance to interact with one another and meet their team's 2013 coaches and managers.

"We're also going to have Tony Beasley who's returning as our manager for the second year now. We'll have Greg Booker our pitching coach, Mike Costanzo who's an up and coming player with the Washington Nationals will be there," said Laurence Segal.

This year's Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame induction class will also be revealed at the Hot Stove event.
