SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse Chiefs' 53rd annual Hot Stove charity event helped the team and fans get an early start on this year's baseball season.

The event, held at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool Friday evening, helps to support youth and community programs including the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation. It also gives fans a chance to play games, bid on signed memorabilia and eat dinner with the team's management and coaches.

Chiefs Manager Tony Beasley says he's looking forward to the fans' support and to see what the team is capable of accomplishing.

"To come up and get back into that baseball atmosphere and get acclimated with your friends and see people that you're going to be with all summer. I'm ready to roll and it's just a fun night to be here," said Tony Beasley, Chiefs Manager.

The Chiefs first game is away on April 4th against the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs.
