SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse's annual Saint Patrick's Parade is less than two months down the line, and fundraising for the big event is underway.

More than a hundred supporters turned out at the Syracuse Boy’s and Girl's Club Friday evening for live music, raffles, and t-shirt sales that raise money for the parade. The fundraiser was put on with the help of sponsoring businesses from Tipperary Hill.

Organizers say the Saint Patrick's Parade is all about community and the Irish tradition.

"People love the parade, they love the tradition of the parade here in Syracuse, it is a strong tradition and they're here for that reason. Any funds that we raise tonight will be going directly to that,” said Chow Downey, event coordinator.

The 31st annual parade is scheduled for March 9th.
