Volunteer fire chief arrested on larceny charges

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A St. Lawrence County volunteer fire chief and his brother have been arrested for allegedly stealing property from the Town of Hermon.

The County Sheriff's office says Christopher Stransky, 35, and his brother, John Stransky, 32, were charged with felony grand larceny after deputies say they stole copper pipe, radiant heaters and a garage door opener from property owned by the town.

Deputies say Christopher is the Hermon Volunteer Fire Chief.

Both were arraigned and released on their own recognizance.
