CONNECTICUT -- We’re learning more about the story behind Coach Jim Boeheim's pointed remarks in his postgame news conference following Wednesday's loss to Connecticut.

"I'll answer any question but not yours, because you're an idiot, and a really disloyal person. I have a few other things I could add, but I'm not going to go there," Boeheim said.

Those were his words for ESPN reporter Andy Katz, who had asked about facing UConn for the final time.

Thursday, in an interview for Time Warner Cable Sports Channel's Syracuse Sidelines, Boeheim explained that the remarks stemmed from an interview Katz did with him in November 2011, shortly after the Bernie Fine story broke.

Boeheim says during the interview, Katz asked him as many as ten times about a topic he had told the reporter he couldn't discuss. The coach told Katz not to speak to him from that point on.

You can hear more about what Boeheim had to say on Syracuse Sidelines tonight. The show airs on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel at 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
