BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- One Binghamton native's dream of becoming a professional actor and singer came full circle Thursday evening.

Stephen Kane returned to his hometown on Valentine's Day as a member of the musical “Rock of Ages.” The 26-year-old graduated from Chenango Forks in 2004 and plays the role of Franz in the hit show about a young couple who moves to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams.

For Kane, it's always been his dream to perform on stage and he says to be able to do so in front of his friends and family at the Broome County Forum is an even bigger thrill.

"From when I was a little kid, I dreamed of performing on this stage, so to be able to come back and do it again is out of this world. I haven't been able to sleep in two nights. Last night, I think I got about an hour of sleep because every time I'd wake up I'd be like 'is it time to come, is it time to be here?' and here we are finally I can't believe it," Kane said.

Kane will be in town for a few more days as he returns to the Endicott Performing Arts Center this weekend for the Devin Spears Memorial Scholarship talent showcase.
