ITHACA, N.Y. - Connor Maisch sank a 3-pointer with less than a second remaining to give the Utica men's basketball team a 69-66 win at Ithaca on Friday.

Ithaca had fought back from an eight-point deficit to tie the game in the final minute but Maisch broke the tie with .2 left on the clock and the Bombers were unable to answer.

The victory keeps Utica tied with Nazareth for the fourth and final Empire 8 tournament berth with one regular-season game remaining Saturday at Elmira, and the Pioneers will now be rooting for Ithaca as the Bombers host Nazareth Saturday afternoon. Ithaca is tied for the No. 2 seed with St. John Fisher.

The result spoiled a historic achievement for Ithaca senior Sean Rossi who became only the 18th men's basketball player in NCAA history (Divisions I, II, and III) to reach 900 career assists, dishing out 10 in the game to give himself 905. He is four away from second place all-time in Division III and 12 away from the record.
