ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca men's and women's basketball teams each finished their regular season with a win over Nazareth on Saturday and senior guard Sean Rossi made history in the process by tying the NCAA Division III career assists record.
The Ithaca men won 76-69 with Rossi dishing out 12 assists to tie the all-time mark of 917. The victory clinched the No. 2 seed in next weekend's Empire 8 tournament which will be hosted by Stevens.
The Ithaca women had already clinched the top seed for their E8 tournament and tuned up with a 54-37 victory, their 10th in a row. The Bombers, however, will not have home-court advantage for the conference tournament due to construction involving their gym, so Hartwick will serve as the host.
