SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Saint Patrick's Day is right around the corner and the preparations for Syracuse's big parade are in full swing.

On Sunday, people geared up for the celebration with an afternoon of music and spirits at Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub.

It was the final parade fundraiser of the year.

The event included live music and lots of prizes, including a year's worth of Guinness.

This year the parade is being held a week early on March 9.

With time running out, organizers are urging people to get their registrations in.

Syracuse St. Patrick's Day Parade President Janet Higgins, says, "That's one of my really big problems. I'm trying to do the lineup already cause I like to have it on the website a week before the parade, and I still don't have half the registrations, and I really need them. I don't know if you're coming, even if you've come the last thirty years, I don't know if you're coming, I'm not a mind reader."

All of the proceeds from Sunday's event benefit the parade committee.
