Pedestrian killed by tractor-trailer
TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Tioga County Sheriff's Office has identified the pedestrian hit and killed by a tractor trailer Tuesday morning.
Deputies say 44-year old Michael Naylor of Sayre, Pennsylvania, was walking in the eastbound lane of Route 17 in the Town of Nichols around 2:30 a.m. when he was struck by the tractor trailer.
Naylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway between Exits 61 and 62 for a few hours. Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash and haven't said if any charges or tickets will be filed.
