SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. -- Pharmacies across the Twin Tiers have been hit by a rash of robberies recently. Multiple Rite-Aid and CVS stores have been robbed in the past week.

Monday, it was the CVS on Main Street in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Police say a man between 25- and 30-years-old handed the pharmacist a note, stating he wanted several narcotic prescription drugs. After getting the pills, he left the store heading north on Main Street.

If you have any more information on this crime, you're asked to call the Wellsboro Police Department at (570) 724-4400.

In Binghamton, police are looking for a man who tried to rob the CVS on West State Street on Saturday. Detectives say he was armed with a knife when he threatened the cashier. He didn't get away with any money, but was last seen in the area of Country Town Apartments on Roberts Street in Binghamton.

Anyone with more information on this suspect should call Binghamton Police at (607) 772-7080.
