SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Roads in Armory Square are back open after large water main break on Tuesday. A 16-inch water main beneath Franklin and Walton streets flooded streets and left several businesses without water service.

Five restaurants remain shut down as a result. Limerick Pub, Opus, Lofo, Namu, and Sakana-Ya all have to get approval from the health department before they can re-open.

City officials say it's fortunate that more places weren't affected. Officials say a break like this costs about $150,000 to repair. They also say right now, the city is averaging one water main break a day.
