No major injuries in Lake Placid small plane crash
ESSEX COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three people were able to walk away from a small plane crash in Lake Placid Thursday.
State Police say an amateur-built experimental aircraft crashed near Nye Mountain, just southeast of Lake Placid at around 6:30 p.m. Crews weren't able to reach the scene until just before 9 p.m.
Troopers say three people were in the plane at the time of the crash and only one sustained a minor injury to the finger. They were reportedly coming from New Jersey at the time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
