CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Elmira Heights man is taken into custody following an hour long standoff with police.

Officials were called to a home on East McCanns Boulevard Thursday just before 9:30 p.m. after hearing about a man with a shotgun.

Inside the home were a woman, two children, and Jason Dannelley, 40. Hostage negotiators were able to get the two children out of the home. About an hour later, Dannelley surrendered. The woman was not hurt.

Dannelley was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for an evaluation.

No charges have been filed yet.
