UTICA, N.Y. -- Professional hockey could be coming back to the Mohawk Valley.
A Utica Observer-Dispatch blog is reporting that a deal has been reached with the NHL's Calgary Flames.
It would send their minor league franchise to the Utica Auditorium, starting with the 2014 - 2015 season.
According to the Observer-Dispatch story, it’s a ten year deal that would include a new video scoreboard for the stadium.
The blog reports an official announcement is expected in about a month.
Right now Calgary's AHL team is the Abbotsford Heat in British Columbia.
