BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Endicott man was arrested and charged with attempted rape and robbery. Police say they responded to a call last night from a woman who was walking along Delaware Avenue in the Town of Union. The woman told police that a man tried to rape her and stole her purse.

A short time later, police arrested Futahi Hampton at a nearby convenience store. He's being held at the Broome County Correctional facility without bail.
