OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the FitzPatrick plant in Oswego County was shutdown this weekend. It was taken offline so that crews could make repairs on a feedwater heater tube leak. The devices are used to heat water before its pumped into the reactor.
NRC officials say workers identified the leak a week ago.
Federal inspectors were on-site to observe the shutdown, and will work with Entergy as the company plans to return the reactor to full service.
