ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Central New York SPCA officials say one of the horses rescued last week has passed away. The mare was one of 14 severely neglected horses seized from the Bailer Road property.
The horses were examined by a veterinarian when two of them collapsed. Only one horse was able to be nursed back to health.
The SPCA says that the cause of death is likely due to the poor condition the horses were found in. All the other horses have problems but are recovering.
