Police are searching for two men accused of robbing banks in Central New York, the Capital Region and Massachusetts. Now police hope new pictures of the pair will break the case. Our Candace Hopkins has the details on their search for the suspects.

DEWITT, N.Y. -- These two men have probably been logging a lot of miles on the Thruway and the Mass Pike. Since January, they are accused of robbing eight banks: Four in Central New York, three in the Capital Region and one in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Their identities remain a mystery.

Investigator Thomas Regan of the DeWitt Police Department is just one of the police officers searching for the suspects.

"These two individuals are working in concert in committing these robberies and so basically, we're looking for the assistance of the public in identifying these two individuals," Regan said.

Police have released dozens of surveillance photos of the pair. But so far, they haven't helped. Usually when police release these types of pictures to the public, they receive a lot of tips back, but in this case, they haven't, which makes police wonder if these men are actually from outside of Central New York.

"We believe there is a possibility that these individuals may be traveling, or just the right people haven't seen their photos put out," said Regan.

But the latest photos could be the break the police need. These were taken on March 1st at the Key Bank in Niskayuna. And because they are spending so much time traveling, police are optimistic someone in the service industry may recognize them.

"If there's anybody who maybe works in a restaurant, or some type of facility where people would come that are traveling, hotels, that type of thing, we would just ask them to take a hard look at these pictures," said Regan.

Police say they hope this game of catch me if you can will soon be coming to an end.
