Man indicted for attack on family members
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man has been indicted on one count of second degree assault for allegedly attacking several family members back in January.
Police say Lawrence Stokes Sr., 46, sold the family's TV to buy drugs. When he returned to their Belle Avenue home, he was confronted by his son.
Police say Stokes stabbed his son, then stabbed the victim's brother in the eye when he tried to step in. Stokes also allegedly attacked his wife with a claw hammer.
Everyone survived the attack, but there were severe injuries.
Investigators say Stokes has a long history of crack and cocaine addiction.
