CHITTENANGO, N.Y. -- There are still several unanswered questions regarding the investigation into Chittenango Police Chief Jeffrey Paul. Paul is being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff's office and the DA's office.
Search warrants were executed at the village offices, the police department, and two funeral homes in the area that belong to Paul. On top of his job as Chittenango Chief, Paul also serves as a part-time Sheriff's Deputy.
When asked if the investigation had anything to do with "double-dipping," the Sheriff said it was leading in that direction. The Village says they're cooperating, but says the investigation came as a complete surprise.
No further information has been released. The Sheriff's office said they expected to have more early next week.
